Thank You Doesn't Seem Like Enough
Trying to articulate a genuine feeling of gratitude and thanks is so much harder than just writing “thank you.” That seems like a banal cop-out to really dig deep and thinking about the best way to project actual feelings. Gratitude is truly meaningless unless you share it, be it through words or actions. I’m a big believer in acknowledging through notes and letters, giving me time to pick my words and sort my thoughts. It started when I was little and my mom sat my brother and I down after Christmas and birthdays with a stack of cards to write thank-you notes while she hovered - in the most loving way possible - until everyone had been acknowledged. In this note, I’ll try to express the feeling of thanks from our entire office for your unending support throughout this crazy year.
On New Year’s Eve last year who could have ever guessed that 2020 was going to be as weird as it’s turned out to be? With our eight week closure, you were the ones that kept us going by participating in Product Wednesdays. You gave us a project to occupy the mind and some income during a very low point of motivation. Even while being gloved, masked up, and practically throwing your product through your car window, seeing you all and reconnecting recharged the batteries giving us a glimmer of hope for the weeks to come.
When we were allowed to reopen and resume business, you came back. We took, and still continue to take, all safety precautions to keep patients and staff healthy and you felt safe here. We breathed a sigh of relief when the schedule became completely filled. The business made it through when others didn’t because of your fierce loyalty and love for what we do. There is no doubt that we are successful because of our patients.
This week we’re holding a virtual client appreciation event in an attempt to show our gratitude to all of you who have stuck with us through thick and thin. It’s the least we can do in acknowledgment of your loyalty, constancy, and friendship. It’s a little disappointing that we can’t have our usual big party to hang out with everyone in a non-clinical way, but just wait until next year.
We value all of you for your individuality in what you bring to the office. We truly enjoy helping you to achieve your skincare goals but love being a part of your lives; hearing stories, sharing jokes, and even shedding an empathetic tear here and there. You’re the reason we do what we do. We are all grateful.
